I've started acquiring the gear I'll need, new camera, boots, Carhartts, ect. The item that is one of the most critical I'm on the fence about replacing: my pack. She's got more miles on her than a 20 year old Chevy, held together with ductape, bailing wire and zip ties, I've had to restitch both straps several times. I'm nervous that she wont make it. And what it will mean if she doesn't. A hitcher's pack is a helluva thing, and the notion of replacing her is more than a little disturbing to me. I'll have to strip her down to the frame and see what needs mending and reinforcing before I decide, but it's an issue for sure.
As for AlaskanDude.com, the first real youtube video is lined up to be completed this week. A tour of a World War 2 military base, it's got some pretty remarkable visuals, and the rough draft has turned out even better than I had hoped. I personally wanted to do a tour of the Great Alaska Bush Company, but my tech guy said we could run into legal issues there. Oh well.
Also, the AD Gift Shop will be back on line soon. Full of classy coffee cups and neato knives, there should be some pretty cool shit in there.
