In the immortal words of Ernest Hemingway: "write drunk, edit sober".
Unfortunately in the world of blog writing, that's pretty much impossible. Of course, unless I remember to come to my senses and delete it in the morning...which, let's face it, is about as likely as me waking up with a steady job instead of a head ache. In any case, I'm breaking a rule of mine to never blog drunk. But what the hell? I've done worse...
I had every intention of leaving Portland today and pushing South, but as is want to happen on the Road, plans went awry. So I have another night with my Portland homies, and it'll be off to more adventuring in the morning-ish.
It seems to me, it's hard for many people to really acknowledge when the good times are truly good. I believe it requires a developed sort of perspective to be fully aware of just how not shitty the moment really is. Unfortunately, this requires the critical element of extensive periods of time in profoundly shitty scenarios.
And that's a bummer.
I like to think I have a pretty good handle on this particular subject. At least good enough to know when I'm having a kick ass moment, and to never, never, take it for granted.
Because the next could very well be the worst or last you'll ever see.
I like boobies.
